I wanted to let you know that this Sunday is “Zero-Tasking Day,” and I invite you to celebrate it with me! Zero-Tasking Day started in 2018 and is meant to be a day to take a break and take care of yourself or do something relaxing and just for you.
It happens every year when we have Daylight Savings in the fall and “gain” an extra hour. The theory behind it is that we don’t actually gain that hour since we’ll lose it again when we “spring forward” during the next Daylight Savings. Instead of using that “extra” hour to be productive and/or get more done, you’re supposed to take a nap or go for a relaxing walk, write in a journal, read a book, or do something that is the opposite of “hustle and bustle” and is more “me time”…something that will help you relax and de-stress.
Maybe try Forest Bathing. I might give that a go. I’ve been meaning to try it, and this seems like the perfect time.
In any event, I have NO idea why I never heard of this Zero Tasking thing before, but I plan to take full advantage of this new-to-me concept and make sure I spend that “extra” hour doing something decadently unproductive! Lol
So, whatever you have planned this Sunday, make sure you carve out an hour to do nothing. Or to do something that you’ll really enjoy just for the sake of doing it, rather than trying to squeeze the last drop out of the sponge of the day.
